The first full-sized mural we painted! At 4 × 4 feet, this majestic lion embodies the spirit of Kent Gardens. The caption, "#kgpride," reminds students at Kent Gardens to be patient, respectful, inclusive, do their best, and be excited to learn. Yellows and greens are woven throughout the mural, which are the school colors.

Going into this project, we didn't have much experience with creating murals. Luckily, Principal McGuigan already had a clear vision in mind and provided us with a reference image. Before painting the real mural, we practiced a one-quarter scaled-down version of the mural on a square of drywall we bought.

When painting the mural, the smooth wall we had chosen made paint application easy. The main challenge we faced while painting was the text, since the intricate black outlines were difficult to perfect with a paintbrush. We later learned our lesson and purchased paint pens for outlines.
